I worked on my MG novel tonight, and I'm up over 3,000 words. If I'm shooting for the low end of the suggested word range, then I'm more than 10% of the way there. I should have this baby wrapped up by middle of next week, tops.
HA.
Take that, you fabulous, form rejecting agents. Prepare to be queried by me MONTHLY. With a new work each time. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha [evil laughter fades as I climb stairs to my room, where I fall, exhausted and delirious, onto my bed]

You're hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is, they probably don't remember us even if we query the same agent every day.
ReplyDeleteI actually like this idea because it means they are all about the writing not the name behind the writing.
I like your plan...query often with different works. And I'll be the one who queries before I'm even finished:)
ReplyDeleteI know! I've totally thought about querying people for this MG novel and seeing if there's any interest, and then if I get bites, MADLY writing the rest. I won't do it, of course, but the idea has occurred to me. I've already written the query letter several times in my mind! :)
ReplyDeleteWriting the query letter first is maybe not a bad idea -- it will give structure and firmness to your idea. I should probably try that... I love the idea about querying monthly. Just change your name each time to throw 'em off the scent even more.
